Experiencing the beauty of living things grounds me in the natural world. The numinous essence within each living thing is its own Spirit, and I want to give this underlying essence a visual presence. and. I want my paintings to give the viewer a way to connect with that beauty and energy and experience it along with me.
Born in mid-century rural Orange County and raised on a citrus ranch, Kate MacMahon’s creativity developed in a natural environment of light and color that is consistently reflected in her work.
Largely self-taught, MacMahon’s eclectic art education has included exploring indigenous and shamanic art. Her work is deeply influenced by her spiritual beliefs. Her home and studio are in Orange, California.
